This video covers the introduction of South Korea's "Workcation Visa" (Digital Nomad Visa), which began its pilot operation on January 1, 2024.
Key Highlights:
Purpose: To allow foreign nationals to work remotely for companies abroad while staying in South Korea for an extended period.
Duration: One year initially, renewable for up to one additional year (Total 2 years).
Eligibility:
Must be employed by a foreign company or be a freelancer abroad.
Annual income must be twice the Korean GNI (approx. 85 million KRW or $65,000 USD).
Must have medical insurance coverage of at least 100 million KRW.
Benefits: Unlike tourist visas (90 days), this allows for long-term residency and the ability to bring a spouse and children.
