Daesang Group announced on the 11th that it has introduced a Korea-Japan linked 'Global Workation (Work+Vacation)' program
.
This program involves Daesang Group employees, who work in Korea, experiencing the local work environment in Japan for a certain period.
Prior to this, Daesang Group signed an official Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Hyuga City, Miyazaki Prefecture, Japan, on the 7th to operate the global workation program.
The parties agreed to cooperate with the goals of jointly creating local public value through global workations, expanding mutual regional and corporate exchanges between Korea and Japan, and solving mutual challenges.
The signing ceremony was attended by Choi Dae-young, Team Leader of Corporate Culture at Daesang Holdings, and Satoshi Nishimura, Mayor of Hyuga City, Japan.
The global workation program is open to any employee of Daesang Group affiliates. Selected employees are provided with dedicated workspaces and accommodation.
In fact, from the 4th to the 8th, five employees from Daesang Group affiliates, including Daesang Holdings, Daesang, Daesang Wellife, and Daesang Dives, visited Hyuga City, Miyazaki Prefecture, for 5 days and 4 nights to personally experience the first global workation program managed by Hoppers.
Participants carried out their work remotely in a dedicated workspace and experienced the local work culture. They also participated in various programs to experience the nature and culture of Hyuga City, enjoying the benefits of a workation where work and rest are in harmony.
Choi Dae-young, Team Leader of Corporate Culture at Daesang Holdings, stated, "This global workation is expected to be an opportunity to increase the job satisfaction and creativity of group members," adding, "Through this program, we will not only expand business exchanges between Korea and Japan but also use it as a starting point to diversify overseas base programs and build a global network."
Meanwhile, Daesang Group has been operating domestic 'Workstay' systems in Jeju and Busan since 2023, starting with Daesang Holdings and Daesang Wellife, receiving positive responses.
Encouraged by this, the company plans to expand its scope beyond Korea to the global stage this year, providing various opportunities for employees to increase creativity and productivity while balancing work and rest in a new environment.
