The Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Seoul Tourism Organization announced on the 18th that they have selected 5 companies to participate in the '2025 Seoul Tourism Startup Cooperation Project.'
This project is designed to support promising enterprises to strengthen the foundation of Seoul's tourism industry. Since its inception in 2016, a total of 96 tourism startups have been discovered and nurtured to date.
This year's project showed a high competition rate of 30 to 1, with a total of 152 companies applying during the open recruitment last month. Five companies were selected after passing a primary document review, a secondary interview review, and a tertiary final audition.
As a result of the final audition, the Grand Prize was awarded to Goodlugg Company (same-day luggage storage and delivery service). CrossHub (Self-Sovereign Identity and mobile simple payment solution) was selected for the Top Excellence Award, while the Excellence Awards went to CeleTrip (docent tours utilizing K-POP idol voices), PosyPushy (K-POP themed total beauty styling experience), and Hoppers (customized services for long-term foreign tourists).
The selected enterprises will receive a total of 200 million KRW in project funding, ranging from 30 million to 70 million KRW depending on their ranking, to improve the quality of tourism services.
They will also receive support for expert (accelerator) customized incubation programs and assistance with global expansion.
The city plans to provide follow-up support, such as service advancement consulting and promotional linkages with Seoul City and related agencies, even after the support period ends.
Koo Jong-won, Director General of the Tourism & Sports Bureau at the Seoul Metropolitan Government, stated, "We will continue to discover and nurture tourism startups possessing innovative services to create a travel environment where tourists visiting Seoul can enjoy the city more conveniently and interestingly."
